Historical background until today
Villar Perosa
The plant in Villar Perosa has been founded on a total area of 190 thousand sqm in 1906 by Roberto Incerti & Giovanni Agnelli Sr., the company has been also called ”RIV” and has become at that time the most important company of Italy. In 1965 it becomes a SKF company, that is until today one of our main customers.
In June 2001 a new legal unit ”OMVP SpA” has been the owner, 100% owned by SKF Industry. 13 years later than the plant in Avigliana, it becomes on the 1st of February 2011, a company of Neumayer Tekfor Group, and followed the same development steps afterwards. Today’s production-processes are focusing on hot forging, machining, as well as on heat treatments.
We can look today on a rich heritage with a pure production in Europe and innovation-, technology- & people-oriented founder.
Avigliana
The first stone for construction of the plant in Avigliana has been put in 1891 by the Vandel & C. Still today it is a total area of nearly 200 thousand sqm. 26 years later, in 1917, it becomes a FIAT company.
The legal unit “Tekfor Spa” has been established in 1998, in the property of Teksid SpA, that has been owned by Fiat Group. Up from 27th of Oct 1998 the plant becomes part of the German Neumayer Tekfor Group. The 1st of June 2013 it becomes an Amtek Group Company and has been part afterwards of KKR. It shows therefore a more than 20 years experience with a German group.
The successful acquisition of both Italian plants, Villar Perosa and Avigliana, by Mutares SE & Co KGaA has taken place this year on January 31st, 2020. Today’s production-processes are focusing on cold- & warm forging.
