Steel is usually heated up to a starting point temperature of round 1200 C and forged on vertical or horizontal press with automatic transfer. A multistage closed-die forging generates the final shape. Hot forging is suitable for a large range of components like conrods, inner and outer rings for wheel system, outer races and transmission gears.
